Project Overview

TEC Services was engaged by Holcim to deliver the Electrical Services Construction Subcontract for the Gorgon LNG Plant located on Barrow Island. This complex and high-specification project required close coordination with the client’s Site Project Manager to manage the logistics, installation, and commissioning of all electrical equipment, including both free-issue and contractor-supplied items.

Key responsibilities included the acceptance, installation, and testing of client-issued switchboards, as well as the full supply and installation of mains and sub-mains cabling systems. TEC Services also delivered complete cable accommodation works, including trenching, conduits, cable ladder systems, and ancillary supports.

Additionally, the project involved the installation and commissioning of control and indication equipment as specified in the client’s documentation. All works were executed in accordance with stringent quality checklists and testing schedules, ensuring compliance with industry and site-specific standards on this environmentally sensitive and logistically challenging site.

Project Highlights

• Major LNG Infrastructure Delivery – Successfully executed electrical works on one of Australia’s largest and most complex energy projects, located on Barrow Island.

• Client Collaboration – Maintained close coordination with Holcim’s Site Project Manager to manage logistics, sequencing, and integration of all electrical components.

• Switchboard Systems Integration – Accepted, installed, terminated, and tested all client-issued switchboards in compliance with strict project checklists and schedules.

• End-to-End Cabling Solutions – Supplied, installed, and commissioned mains and sub-mains cabling across the site, including connections to diesel generators and distribution points.

• Comprehensive Cable Management – Delivered complete trenching, conduit, cable ladder, and support systems tailored to site requirements and environmental controls.

• Control & Indication Systems – Installed and tested all electrical control and indication equipment as per project specifications and drawings.

• Executed in a Remote, Regulated Environment – Demonstrated TEC Services’ capability to deliver under strict environmental, logistical, and compliance conditions unique to Barrow Island.
