Transforming JD Hardie Multiusers Courts and Surrounds

The project involved the construction of new multiuser courts, infrastructure upgrades, and landscaping enhancements designed to improve usability and provide long-term benefits for the community.

Project Overview

The redevelopment included the construction of three new connected multiuser sports courts with coloured sports surface and line markings, new shade structures, and modern toilet and storage facilities. The surrounding infrastructure was upgraded with new pathways, lighting, parking areas, and extensive landscaping to create an accessible and well-equipped community space.

Project Highlights

Earthworks, site clearance, and demolition of the existing playing court, footings, paths, and planters
Remediation works to existing walls to ensure structural integrity
Construction of three new multiuser sports courts with coloured sports surfaces and line markings
Installation of new open shade structures over two courts and freestanding walkway shade structures
Construction of an integrated toilet and storage facility, including:
- Changing Places toilet and change room
- Unisex accessible toilet
- Storage room
Installation of seating walls and outdoor furniture
Electrical and lighting installation for courts, landscapes, and car parks
Installation of an automatic irrigation system to support soft landscaping
Modifications and installation of open and piped drainage infrastructure
Construction of a new asphalt and kerb-lined car park with lighting, tree planting, and a dedicated bus/drop-off zone and ACROD parking
Concrete footpath installation for improved accessibility
Planting of trees, shrubs, and roll-on turf to enhance green spaces
Retaining and seat wall construction for functionality and design
Incorporation of project-specific artwork into court and walkway shade structures
Bulk earthworks, soilworks, and final grading to prepare the site for long-term use
Installation of CCTV and public address (PA) systems for safety and operational support
Comprehensive aftercare and maintenance of all landscaping, irrigation, and turf for a 13-week consolidation period
